freedom to marry

IMG_0069 copy

This day. Wow. There was so much going on in term of media attention. The amount of photographers present was staggering, and I felt a little bit like part of the blood-sucking paparazzi. Considering I wasn't actually there on assignment, I just kind of hung back. This is a photograph of one of my co-workers at the time, Lauren. She just happened to be the musical entertainment of the day.

I'd actually like to make this part of a larger project of examining what happens when women shed their clothes in the name of protest.

Somewhere along the way I have acquired an old Brownie Hawkeye camera. Hawkeye is quite possibly the most awesome name for a camera. Using it is mainly guesswork, and changing film is an absolute chore. I love it anyway.

Not the most technically difficult of shots, but I still love the color.

It doesn't really matter if she is actually your grandmother or not, everyone just calls her Grannybarb.

'til death do us part

IMG_3058 copy

I always thought that the line "'til death do us part" was a delightfully morbid aspect of traditional weddings. I couldn't decide on the b/w or color version. The sky was so beautiful that day, but you can see so much more detail in b/w. See the color version here.
